Systems Administrator
UncommonGoods, an award-winning website that offers creatively designed products, many of which are handmade and/or recycled, is looking for a systems administrator to help take this rapidly-growing company to the next level.
This is a seasonal position with the possibility of it becoming year round for the right candidate.
Successful candidates will feel comfortable working both independently and as a part of a creative and diverse team.
Qualifications:
Have a positive outlook and are forward thinking.
Have a willingness to learn and grow.
Extend our warehouse network for installation of security cameras.
Maintain and extend our windows domain (currently 2000) and linux servers (we are migrating to SUSE).
Maintain HP and Xerox printers (includes physical cleaning) and configuring required desktops (windows) and servers (Linux CUPS) to use them.
Install and support various Windows based programs (Symantec, Peachtree, Adobe CS, MS Office, Eudora, etc).
Add new employee accounts for software such as windows, emails, and custom administration tools when needed.
Learn how our phone system (Nortel PBX) works and work with vendors to resolve issues.
Know how to configure, install and maintain 802.xx
Maintain and rollout images and builds of workstations.
Maintain and upgrade hardware for workstations and servers.
Can maintain workstations, network security and policies (Antivirus, GPO, Proxies).
Have knowledge of networking and able to perform wiring of networks (as needed).
Know how to configure and maintain switches and routers - (Cisco, Intel).
Shell scripting and programming (Bash, Java, PERL, SQL) is a plus.
Knowledge of logistics software such as WorldShip, Clippership, etc a plus.
